Vision Statement

Organizing a pedestrian-based eco-village while preserving 100 acres of woodland five miles from downtown Athens, GA.
We wish to live with each other and with all other forms of life, plant and animal, in a way that is respectful, considerate, and open to growth. We will encourage diversity of all types.

We hope to be tolerant and open to each other's ideas and opinions, to learn and grow together, and to offer what we learn to others. We intend to support each other, to encourage creativity and dreams, and to share our discoveries.

We want to create an integrated community in which the residents can live, work and pursue their interests. We hope our community can serve as a model of sustainable living, using viable solutions that do not further harm, but rather help to heal the earth.

OTCC Shareholders are the purchasers of the 155 acres of land. The group is committed to preserving 100 acres of greenspace whie supporting community growth through experimental and natural building. If you are interested in buying a share in the Orange Twin Conservation Community, LLC contact:

Community House Project

Early in October 2005, Orange Twin members were told that the house at 163 Jonas St. in Athens, Ga was to be demolished, and that we could have the house if it could be moved within 30 days. We sprang into action and the house was moved by the end of that month. Since then we've repainted the exterior and begun establishing a presence in the immediate surroundings of the house. The garden has consistently grown over the past 3 years and we are currently home to 26 chickens, a hive of bees and a duck! Having the farm house has been key in creating a central location on the land for meeting and organizing projects. We hope to begin hosting volunteer workdays with greater frequency!
