Charlotte OC Gets Real on New Track “This Pain”

The UK recording artist opens up to a powerful melody.

British pop polymath Charlotte OC sings directly from the heart, and her latest drop is certainly no exception. With melodies rooted in her emotive authenticity, the rising starlet’s latest track “This Pain” provides a first look into OC’s upcoming Oh The Agony, Oh The Ecstasy EP, which is set to drop this Spring.

Following the success of her debut album Careless People and performing on tour with James Arthur and Tom Walker, “This Pain” illustrates a new facet of Charlotte’s psyche that hasn’t yet made its way int her musical repertoire. Touching on the realities of pain and suffering through the lens of intricate melodies and complex arrangements, the British vocalist eloquently faces unwanted emotions with a fulfilling honesty. Finding the good in a bad situation, OC eloquently relays her messages of self-reflection to a tune that is sure to be stuck in your head.

On independently drafting and producing the heart-wrenching song, the UK pop star explained, “I’ve always written my own music but production was alien to me. Then one day when I just really needed to write this song, to release the green-eyed monster that was stirring inside my stomach—I downloaded logic and started to produce. I took what I’d done to Tim Anderson—an amazing producer I work with a lot & who produced my ‘careless people’ album. I was super nervous and kind of embarrassed to play such an incredible producer my bedroom demos but his reaction was so wonderful and when he said ‘I’ve been waiting for you to do this’ I suddenly felt 10ft taller. So “This Pain” became the blueprint for the entire EP.”
