Chris Dave and the Drumhedz might not immediately ring bells, but you’ve likely heard Dave’s work laced behind the sounds of some of the biggest names in music over the years, from 90s boy band favorite Mint Condition to Adele and Justin Bieber.
After playing the back for quite some time, Dave and the Drumhedz are plotting their much-anticipated debut album, Chris Dave and the Drumhedz, for the new year and giving fans a taste of what’s to come with their new song “Dat Feelin'” premiering through Billboard today (Dec. 21).
As his musical resume reveals, Dave’s melodies take cues from a melange of sounds including jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop. On the infectious, head-bobber “Dat Feelin” featuring TDE’s SiR, Dave and the Drumhedz lay down an indelible groove rhythm strengthened by blaring horns, funk-flavored drum ticks, and jazzy piano lines reminiscent of D.C’s underground go-go culture.
