Video Premiere: Blue Water Highway Celebrate Dreamers on Enchanting 'Paper Airplanes'

Texas-based Americana group Blue Water Highway find wonder in daydreams on the anthemic, soaring "Paper Airplanes," the title track to their forthcoming album of the same name (out on March 12).

"'Find a way to fly, feet on the ground.' This song ties together all the songs, and was the catalyst for writing the album. It is the struggle of how to dream as an adult with real responsibilities," the band tells Wide Open Country. "How to see, without naivety, the wonder in mundane things, and how to find a place of 'Re-enchantment,' as C.S. Lewis so perfectly puts it. Just like the kid in the video, my childhood room was filled with model airplanes, rockets, spaceships, stars and planets. The dream of being an astronaut changed to a dream of playing creating music for a living, but the struggle of how to treat that dream was poured out in the writing of this song. When the band hit a turning point a couple years ago, re-discovering this song was what we needed to keep moving forward."

Blue Water Highway is made up of Zack Kibodeaux (lead vocals/guitar), Greg Essington (vocals/guitar), Catherine Clarke (vocals/keyboard) and Kyle Smith (bass). They take their name from the roadway that links their hometown of Lake Jackson, Texas to Galveston.

The group previously released the album Things We Carry in 2015 and Heartbreak City in 2018.
