Video Premiere: Aaron Neville featuring Dirty Dozen Brass Band “Stomping Ground” from ‘Take Me To The River: New Orleans’

On April 1, Petaluma Records will release the soundtrack to Take Me To The River: New Orleans. The documentary will explore the musical history and cultural legacy of the city and its surroundings. Martin Shore directed the film, which is his follow-up to Take Me To The River which explored the heritage and musical influence of Memphis.

The Take Me To The River: New Orleans soundtrack album features music from Dr. John, The Neville Brothers, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Irma Thomas, George Porter Jr., Cyril Neville, Donald Harrison, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah Ivan Neville, George Porter Jr., Soul Rebels, Walter Wolfman Washington, Ian Neville and many others. Today we are premiering the official video for “Stompin’ Ground” featuring Aaron Neville and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, with George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville and Eric Krasno participating as well.

Martin Shore tells Relix, “’Stompin’ Ground’ really embodies what Take Me to the River New Orleans film, record, and live show represents. Demonstrating diverse inclusive collaborations highlighting one of the world’s most important cultural jewels and music community, New Orleans!”

He adds, “The most amazing part of the ‘Stompin’ Ground’ session and the song is how seamlessly and quickly all the musicians came together, but it’s no surprise when you are talking about New Orleans music royalty under the musical direction of Producer Eric Krasno! Aaron Neville, Charles Neville, Ivan Neville, Ian Neville, George Porter Jr.,  and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, were simply amazing. After a short rehearsal it was a one take wonder! Everybody involved was on their A-Game.”
