Hear Jenny Lewis and Habib Koité's new collaboration 'Under The Supermoon'

“The whole world thinks we’re insane,” sings Jenny Lewis on “Under The Supermoon,” a lulling new track from the On the Line singer and legendary Malian guitarist Habib Koité. Part of Let The Rhythm Lead: Haiti Song Summit Vol. 1, a collaborative album that celebrates the work of the non-profit organization Artists for Peace and Justice, the song was made in the aftermath of the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

“It’s a love song [that was] written in Jacmel floating in the Caribbean Sea under the supermoon of November 2016,” Lewis tells EW about the track’s inception, adding that it is “a travelogue of sorts processed in real time.” The same can be said of the music video, which features Lewis and Koité traveling through Haiti, dancing with locals, and singing in front of a big bonfire.

In addition to Lewis and Koité, the Let The Rhythm Lead project includes contributions from Paul Beaubrun, Jackson Brown, Raúl Rodríguez, Jonathan Russell, Jonathan Wilson, and Haitian roots band Lakou Mizik. The full release is set to drop on Jan. 10.
